  49. Today my group is starting our project. To me, it is confusing to try to figure stuff out. I can not figure out how to insert pictures. I can not also figure out how to link. I pressed apply the link, but after I pressed it I could not see it. I even saved it and went back in to edit. This is hard, but will probably get easier as we go on.

  50. Today we started the project. we made a comix strip and tyson told me to hit the next button and I lost all my work. So we only got 1 slide done.

  52. Today my group, Sean c., Johnny N., and I created a glogster acount. It was difficult to write in the text boxes. We finally learned how to. Johnny and Sean were working on the front cover and back cover and they found some cool pictures to use. I was working on writing the summary. I listed several strong ideas I wanted to put in the summary. I started the summary and only got to write one sentence. I did not do as much as I wanted to. Hopefully next time I can be more productive.

  53. My group: Dennis, Danny A and I. We used glogster.com. Dennis and I made an account with our school email. Danny put in his school email and it did not work so he changed his username, password byt he still put in his school email. It did not work so Danny put in his personal email and it had worked. Also i hope we can find a way that we can all edit at the same time.

  55. Today my group, Josh, Ryan, Kilahra, and I have been working on a makebelief comic. At first it seemed like it would be impossible to get 8 boxes of dialogue in just 4 slides. Now we have finally figured out a way to make it all work and things seem to be moving smoothly.

    ReplyDelete
  56. My group: Peter, Katie and I had spent probably thirty minutes on trying to find out how you make to join a google doc onto the glogster. It doesn't seem as easy as it looks. We still cant figure how to do it.

  57. My group: Katie and Sean , are working hard on Glogster. We have pictures, words, and even titles! It's going great!

  58. Today it was hard not to have Mrs.Salewski. I had a couple questions to ask her but i figured them out with my peers. I thought it was hard to get everyone review because some of them did not give enough information. (November 30)

  59. Today I was trying to figure out how to upload a picture to glogster. I could not figure out how to even when the substitute helped me. I tried different things, but it still would not upload. It was hard not having Mrs. Salewski to help me. I asked my peers if they could help me, and it turned out they could. Cami should me how to upload a picture (Thanks Cami)

  61. Today we read the biography and worked on the front cover. We are going to start writing our summary and our biography.

  62. I wish there was color in the make belief comics, as this would make it livelier.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Too bad there is no color in the make belief comic.

  64. Today Catherine, Rachel, and I worked Glogster. Since Caroline wasn't here today we were not able to work on the cover page. Catherine and Rachel were working on the summary and author's biography. We are still trying to figure out how to share the glog so that we can all edit at the same time. We didn't get to finish the cover page today, but we are sure that we will finish on time.

  66. Our project isn't nearly close to finishing, but I think that we can still do it. My group has Carson, Aubree, Lauryn S, and I. Carson, Lauryn and I have almost finished the cover page, but we don't have our quotes, biography, or synopsis. I think that we can finish it tomorrow or Wednesday. I'm pretty sure I can get those things done. Everything happens for the good. But it's kind of stressful because we didn't have class today. But I think it'll be fun!!!

    1. Our project hasn't gotten that far, but i think we will finish. David, lauren, and Sarah are in my group. We started to do the biography, but e decided that it wasn't good. We did the summery and autobiography. The work would be so much easier if we could share the document on glogster.

  67. Today we accomplished a'lot. To anyone else whose doing a makebeliefs comix, you can't really fit a whole chapter in 4 boxes, so you can make the comic strip more than once and then print them out and put them together. Were doing the Lets hear it for the first grade chapter. Also Hunter's laptop battery was out, and he didn't really accomplish a lot with us today, but he was the one who drafted our original 3 box draft. You can also get backgrounds for the comic strip by going to scenes and objects.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Making a make beliefs comix is really easy. But making one with 5 vocab words is so much hard er. Our group Carly, Kilahra, Ryan and I had to restart our comix because we didn't know that we had to add five vocab words. So far we have done three slide!

  69. It was nice to have Mrs. Salewski back so we could get some answers to all of our questions about our comic. Even though we didn't have english today, I feel like we are on a better path and have a better understanding of what she wants us to do. It was really helpful for her to be there and help us work out our problems

  71. Today, one member of my group (not naming names) started dancing and wasn't doing any work. The rest of the group tried to get the person back to work. We finally found out how to link a google docs to glogster. What you do is double click on the text, highlight all the text, and past the address of the google drive in it.

  72. I am creating my project on Glogster and I am writing the summary, but I would rather make a diorama or poster about Bad Boy. I don’t like using technology because there are so many different design options that one can use, and I find that people spend more time thinking about what background they are going to use than what information they are actually going to write. I find that, because we are using technology, the pieces of the project don’t get put together as quickly as they would on paper because their computers often distract them. My group did not choose a leader, but we have functioned very well without one. We all know what part of the assignment we are supposed to work on and we work on it.

    ReplyDelete
  73. When we had to choose which task each of us would do, one of us volunteered to do the cover page, another group member said that she did not want to do the summary, so she did the author’s history. The other group member and I received the other two jobs and we were perfectly happy to work on them. Something that frustrated me was that, because we can all work on our projects at home, we don’t get to compromise on how something looks or sounds. My group’s project doesn’t have a specific theme, so it doesn’t look like one book cover project, but that is because we were all working on this project separately. The person with the job gets all the say which is okay, but sometimes another group member has a really interesting idea and they don’t get to share it with the rest of their group. On the other hand, something that was successful was that each of us has accomplished what we were supposed to do, and each of us did work on our glogs at home. I am happy with my group and how we are working separately and together when we get the chance to be together.

  74. The past couple days, we've been working hard on the cover page. We started the back cover, with Lauryn Stinson and Meghan drawing the cover. Aubree is working on quotes from our classmates and teachers as well. We hope to finish this soon, and put everything together. Glogster is a new program that we are experimenting with, as we go. Hopefully all will turn out well!

    ReplyDelete
  75. When I first started the project, I thought it would be hard, as you cannot upload characters to use in the comics. I also felt that the comics would look a bit nonchalant as there is no color, but now I find it okay as it turned out easier to use than I thought.

  76. For the past week our group has been working very hard and has been very focused on our project. For our project we are using the comic strip website. So far it has been good. We are about halfway through. The comic strips have been fun to use. The only problem with the comic is that there is no color. I am normally a guy that likes color in drawings.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Today my group worked on Glogster. We divided up the tasks on Friday and we worked on them today. I think that the program is ok but it could be a lot better. For example, the Glogster website designers could add in text animations so that you could make the text change colors or something similar to that. Another thing the Glogster designers could do is let you animate objects. Glogster does have some objects that are animated not as many as I thought it did.

  80. I love the use of technology for this project! My group has chosen to use glogster and make a book cover, back cover, and two inside covers. I like the availability of the project, so we can excess it at home and in class. Also I like that we can all be on the same account at the same time accessing everything at the same time.
My group divided up the tasks by assigning everyone a specific part. I was assigned the cover, Maddie the back cover, and Susie and Karolena did the inside covers. We all glanced over at everybody's and made helpful criticism but we left everybody to their own devices.
To me the technology is great! Though personally I would have liked the challenge of doing it by hand. also i would have liked it not to be a group project because I'm a very solitary person when it comes to class work. I think that we should've had the option to work in a group or by our selves.

  81. Today I worked with Sean and Katie on Glogster. We are almost done! We have everything prepared not including some illustrations. I worked on reviews. It was really fun working. We will finish next class.

  82. Today, I worked on Glogster as our Bad Boy project. We tried using the same account so we can work on it all together, but it isn't working. At the end of class we found out everyone has a different looking Glogster poster. We are not sure what to do about it. But by next class we hope that we can fix the problem. Besides that, our original format before that happened was good. We just have to add a review and some vocabulary words into the text.

  83. My group (Yan hao, Alex, and I) Started work on our final bad boy project yesterday. Since then, I have noticed several complications. Because I am used to Google drive, I was unprepared for my work to be lost. Fortunately, The work I lost was only experiments. I was also used to sharing my work with others, so I was unprepared for the inaccessibility of my fellow group members.

    ReplyDelete
  84. My group members were Danny McCray and I. We did a comic strip on makebeliefscomix.com. Although, this is a convenient way to do a comic, I prefer to draw freehand. The selection of characters in this website is not as broad and I cannot express the characters’ feelings and expressions using this website.

Our group worked as a team in every aspect. There is no leader and we did everything together. On the first day, we explored the website to understand how it works. The first difficulty we encountered was that we could not save our work. We tried many ways but we were futile. In desperation, we decided to not close Google Chrome so that all our work would not be wasted. To make matter worse, Google Chrome quitted unexpectedly when we were extremely close to finishing the project. All our hard works got deleted. We have learned our lesson the hard way. The next time, we always take a screen shot every 3 boxes and put it on a word document. This way, we could save our work and not let it get deleted. Both Danny and I had great teamwork coming with this solution.

On the second day of the project, we did not do much. We were not even done with half of the chapter we chose. We could have done a lot more work on the second day if I did not accidentally click the restart button and all our work got deleted again. This was so frustrating but I was glad Danny was not mad.

We finally finished our project on December 4 2012. Danny and I were not able to finish the project in class. So we decided to finish it during study hall as we had the same study hall today. It was 1:30 PM when we finished the project. Both of us were committed to finishing the work.

  85. Today In class my group started to get the pieces put together. We have our front cover and back cover completed and we are trying to find a way to do audio for our summary. Then we just need to make it look cooler and maybe add some videos. I find it hard to do all of these thing on different computers and not able to edit the glogster on more then one computer.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Today, my group got a lot done although we went through many difficulties with glogster, we tried to save and it saved but then it moved every thing out of its alignment so we had to move it back in and save again. Even though you might have thought it would have worked but it didn't. We had to move it back and save three times before it actually worked. I think that today we worked very efficiently as a team and as a group.Better then the previous days. Everyone did some sort of work that would be helpful to our project.Even thought we worked very hard to day we still have a lot to finish. I think that maybe next year for the rising 7th graders you should give then a choice to wether or weather not they use prezi or glogster or on paper so they have their personal preference in this project. Over all I haven't had any major complaints.

  87. My group and I are really close to finishing! We only have to add 3 vocabulary words, polish it up, and bingo, a finished masterpiece. We have been working on Glogster and it has started to get easier. I know how to upload pictures, a google docs, a backgrounds.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Today, my group and I worked on the project. We are so close to finishing! We added a couple photos today, and we found some really nice ones. We just need to add some final touches and we are done!

  89. Today my group and I are almost done with our project. We just need to put in some links and polish it up a bit. Add more pictures and then I think were done

  90. Today we made the draft of the comic we decided what chapter. We also decided what characters we are using. We decided what words from the bad boy vocab that we where going to use in the comic. We also started making the final comic but then we accidentally deleted it.

  92. We finished our first 3 boxes for our comic strip. Today we have to find away to get 4 bad boy words into our comic strip. One of the problems with Makebeliefs is that the characters are all pirates, and baby's and really weird . Our Walter is a really weird basketball player.

    20 minutes later

TOday we finished our 2nd strip of comic strip. We'll start the third tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Today our adventure continued on our Bad Boy Project. Pretty much we just did our finishing touches. Like changing which question mark we used, or making our color scheme all matched. So basically we put on our finishing touches.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Yesterday and today have been a great improvement. We got a lot of work done and we are on a roll. Our whole group is working. Carson is almost finished with in the inside fornt cover, Aubree and Lauren are working on the back cover, and I'm working on the inside back cover. We just scanned our picture to put it in the front cover. Glogster is a unique application, I personally think that it is cool and useful, but it might not be the best thing to use for other projects. I'm glad that we found this out now.

    ReplyDelete
  95. We used glogster and it was pretty cool! If you're and artsy person then it would be a good website for you. It was sometimes annoying because it toke a LONG time to make but we could all go on at the same time which was helpful. I would rather do it the old fashion way by using like a poster board or something but i would deffintly use Glogster in the future.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Today we came really close to being completely done, and while we were looking at the rubric we noticed that we had to include 5 words from our Bad Boy word lists. We had to completely start over and try to come up with a better comic. Finally we figured out the words we were going to use by the end of the class. Now I think we are really on the right track. Hopefully no more mistakes will be made.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Today in English we were trying to record. We found it really hard to record and not make the voices fuzzy. Then we had a problem getting the audio onto out poster. But every thing else is coming along. I think that we will have it done just in time.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Today, our group fixed our original problem. We also started doing our recording for our BB project. I was the one who had to create the text for our poster, I didn't mind. Unfortunately, we have another problem. We need to place our recording on our poster, and we don't know how. Mrs. Salewski said that we could fix it tomorrow. I believe we are short on a couple of BB vocabulary words too. I also believe we are doing tomorrow is making it more presentable. Right now I am more focused on getting the limited requirements for our project.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Although I did not Have English Workshop today, I worked a little on my contribution to my group's comic. I noticed that I could not add more than 1 of an object or person with the same pose to a slide. I also noticed that almost every character is doing something writing affiliated in 1 or more poses.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Another thing I noticed today was the fact that you cannot save comics to a file and edit them later. Once you have emailed them, they are frozen in time.A good thing I noticed was about the panel adding. You can add panels without losing your work, but you still cannot decide where you want to put each new panel.

  100. In my group we had trouble with some of the aspects of our project today. For example, we had some grammar mistakes, issues with uploading video, and problems with the overall website. The website kept kicking me off while I was typing our summary or adding in bad boy vocabulary. Since Glogster was being difficult, I went off and helped Merritt add in the vocabulary words. We fixed most of our grammar mistakes by switching the pages that we were working on and checking other group members to make them better. We made a lot of progress today, we only need to add in one more vocabulary word and a few more quotes and we are done.

    ReplyDelete
  101. today are group worked on the cover page of bad boy we are almost done. We also finished doing the reviews. At this rate i think we wil finish the project soon. Though i still think that we should work faster.

    ReplyDelete
  102. When doing this particular project, Glogster was a bit difficult to navigate. There are so many options, and that’s partly what makes it challenging, but I think that if we spent a lot of time working with the website, the options would make the project more thorough and detailed (which is good). I prefer using technology for a project, because there are a lot of resources that you can put into your work to make it better.

    ReplyDelete
  103. We are kind of at a slow point because yesterday one of our group members were out and today she’s back, but a different member is out. This is hard for us because everyone has something we need on her computer. I think we’ll work more on the back page of the cover today so we can finish that. I really hope that everyone is here tomorrow so we can finish this project. We really need to finish our iMovie!

    ReplyDelete
  104. Today, in my group: Alex, Connor and Yan, since Alex was not here, so we continued our project normally. Alex and I did the first strip in the comic the first time, so we asked Connor to do the second strip and he finished it. Today, we started on all the other strips.

    ReplyDelete
  105. When we made our Bad Boy project on Glogster, my group gave everyone in the group a specific section to be the leader of, and the leader of that section shares it with everyone in the group to see if anyone has any input. Lily had the front cover, Spencer had the front inside cover, Rachel had the back inside cover, and I had the back cover.
It worked out successfully, because everyone got to have some input over every section, but no one was left out.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Today We worked on our project on the bad boy media project with my group. It turned out that there was a spelling error and we had two options, start over or photoshop it in. Me and josh decided to photoshop a slide that I made that had no error in it, Josh pasted it in. Meanwhile, Carly and Kilahra finished the last four slide. We got a lot of work done today and will finish soon.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Last night I changed the blog a lot but it made it better. Were almost done but we need to put in one or two more links and touch up a few things. Rachel just sent me the link to the summary so i can link it to our glogster and then we should be done very soon

    ReplyDelete
  108. Today we finished, we just gotta find a way to put it together, the internet was really messed up, and we had to wait and reload and it was really frustrating, in the end, we finally emailed everything to ourselves. Tomorrow, we have to photoshop Manuel into the comic, because in make beliefs, you can't turn the characters, and Manuel was supposed to be on the ground.
    THIS IS MY LAST BLOG..
    YAY!!!

  109. Today, Connor finally finished one of the comic strips so he sent it to me to put the comic together as all the other comic strips are on my computer. Tomorrow, if Alex is here, we just need to finish the last strip of the comic and my group will be done.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Today I wasn't at school. Our group, from what I was reading, made good progress. Connor finished the strip and we should be done soon. The Comic is coming along well.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Like Connor, I also am still realizing how you can't save your project. You have to keep the document open for as long as you need it. You could also just memorize exactly what you had, but that is the hard way. There are a lot of different types of characters in the comic strip, so it is cool to explore all of those different options.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Today, Sean, Katie, and I finished the project. I think it looks fantastic. Even though we all worked on the project, I think Sean did the most work. The reason that sean did the most was that because I did the reviews, Katie did the biography, and Sean did the summary, Sean was the one that put it all together and made an amazing design(since he was the one in our group that had the account). Today, since he was doing the final touches, I put on music, so the class wasn't silent and so we could listen to some good music. So, thank you Sean, and you're design looks really good.

  113. We are now done with everything except the iMovie. This is the last class to do it so we have to do it now. I’m excited to see how the iMovie turns out and to finish the project. My group members have all done their share of the project and I’m really happy about that. I think it has been really fun using glogster and might want to use it again for another project.

  114. Today we are finishing up our project. Since all of the group members are here we are able to put everything together. The cover page, biography, and summary are done. All we have to do is add Rachel’s review and we are done. I’m not a big fan of glogster. I’m sure that we will finish by the end of the period.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Today we sent Mrs. Salewski our project. We finished everything even though Rachel had to leave early. One of the members from another group helped us upload the imovie onto google docs. My group and I are confident that we did a good job. The front and back cover looked great. The imovie also looked great.

  116. Today is our last day. Unfortunately today, Sisi wasn't here so we are mailing her hoping that she would respond back. We used her account to use Glogster, but she is NOT here! But, we are fortunate because one of our group members remembered her username and password. Right now we need to finish some stuff before class ends. Maybe to make it look more presentable.

  119. In my group we had issues with glogster working so we sent you an email to go to prezi. The day after that were told we shouldn't do it on prezi. We spent 20 min. trying to figure out how to save and edit things at the same time. We had to work outside of class to some degree because of our challenges we faced. It took us most of the class to film to short videos because it was hard to make everyone stop laughing. There were some issues there. Over all it has been a pretty fun project and we have learned a heck of a lot

Today we found out that what we were doing would get us a bad grade so now we have to change everything. We started remaking our project today and I think we have a good start.

Today we got about half of our project done. Morgan and I started working on the summary and I think that our project will turn out nicely and it looks like it is all coming together.

We've nearly finished the blog today and a lot of it was just editing. I put some vocabulary words in our summary and we also looked at the layout of the Glogster. I think we'll get the grade we deserve.

  126. I was not in class one day so my group had a hard time because the glogster was on my computer. I wad glad because they were still able to complete some things. We put everything we had on to the glogster and were able to finish in time.
